You can find a Podcast of 5 minutes on the other hand you can also find a Podcast of 2-3 hours long.
So, you first figure out what length of content suits your Listeners then make a detailed script of your show which I’m going to demonstrate.
The good part is that there’s no bad part of making a script, rather it pays your effort very well.
Let’s get started with a Podcast Script that can help you to write your 5-minute Podcast script. I’ve also written few bonus tips at the end.
Table of Contents

- Discuss the main topic
- Shows supported resources
- Ask questions

Follow those steps up to the end part of your Show.

What Should be in a Podcast Script?
Various steps to be followed to create an ideal Podcast script. Because if your base imagination is strong then you can snowball your growth.
Let’s discuss one by one :
Intro:
Youtube video, Tv-Shows, OTT platform everywhere you can see an intro at the starting of any Episode.
Adding an intro gives a signal to viewers’ subconscious minds to make themselves prepare for the entire show.
Also, people can easily recognize your Show very easily by listening to the same intro every day.
That’s why Intro should be your priority in the Script whether it is 5 minute podcast or a 1-hour podcast.
Preview:
Preview what you going to discuss in the Podcast is the trickiest method to gain engagement.
Just represent the preview of some interesting and valuable parts of the entire Episode you think your listeners usually like most.
Keep it short and precise because if you’re going to provide all the answers in just a preview section then why the audience will listen till the end!
As a reference, you can see your favorite Podcast, how they are making previews.
Content Overview:
In almost every website article you see a “TABLE OF CONTENT” section that represents what’s inside the Post.
In the same way, you can say the agenda of your Podcast Episode as it gives an overview of your coverage area(s).
Also, you can write the content of the show in Description as readable content that helps you to optimize the Show in Search Engines(Eg. Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.).
Example: Welcome to [podcast episode number]th episode of [Podcast name]. In this episode, we’re/I’m going to discuss [Episode content] that helps you out to step forward.
Guest Intro:
Introduce your guest to your audience. If your subscribers already follow him/her they’ll be overwhelmed to see him/her here with you.
Say your guest to give a quick self-intro before moving forward in the further discussion.
Example: In this episode, I’m going to introduce our guest [guest name] who is [guest profession]. He/she will be sharing his/her experience about [guest’s expertise field]. Thanks [guest’s first name] for joining me in this show.
Discussion:
Finally this the main body of the show. List in your Script what’re you going to discuss with the audience that smooth your process.
Write point by point what you’re about to explain in Podcast and also write what you shouldn’t insert in.
Your way of discussion may not be the same with others and that’s the parameter that pushes you among the competitors.
You have to ask yourself why people will listen to you as there are many podcasts available beforehand.
Call to action:
Putting Call-to-action(CTA) multiple times in a Podcast episode keeps the audience engage with you.
You can ask few rapid-fire questions after discussing every portion of your Podcast and tell them to comment or respond on that.
This pushes your Podcast ranking upward suppressing others.
Another option is to put a form link in the description and say listeners to fill up, you also get the email of them and use any email managing software to send them some valuable content.
Example: So, I’ve discussed my opinion on [discussion topic]. What you think about it comment below because I read your every comment.
Sponsorships:
Sponsorships are the profitable method of earning money for a Podcast.
As you’re taking money from them, you need to promote them throughout your Show. After discussing a few portions tell something about your Podcast Sponsors.
If you’re hosting podcasts visually(in the video content) then you can also add sponsor ads or animation provided by your Sponsor brand.
Example: This video/Podcast is Sponsored by [Sponsor’s name]. They provide [Sponsor details] you guys can check them out through the link attached below.
Opinion:
People won’t like you if you just discuss the facts and leave them to figure the solution out on their own.
Rather you can tell your opinion at the ending portion of the episode and leave the rest on the audience.
DON’T put too much personal opinion on any topic. Maybe some people agree with there exists another group of people who aren’t on the same page with you.
Example: I think [your opinion] can be done to solve this problem. Comment “Yes” if you also think so.
Supporting Resources:
After discussing every point better put the reference of that discussion. It gives the authenticity of your word.
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE TRUST ON YOU? This is the method to make people believe in you.
In the case of video content, you can show the screenshots or video resources in your Video and also provide the link to resources in the description.
Upcoming Schedule:
People who follow your podcast, also love to know about the next episode beforehand.
You can mention the next episode date to keep people interested in the upcoming shows.
Especially if the podcast is seasonally based that consists of few series of episodes then announce the upload date of the next episode.
Upcoming Preview:
If your next episode is ready to air then a great opportunity to keep people awaiting is to show the upcoming show preview.
Just insert some heart-touching clips of the next episode in the last part of the Podcast episode.
As you got a few email addresses through Call-to-Action(CTA), so you can send some interesting attachments through e-mail.
Outro:
Finally, finish up your Podcast script by adding an Outro as an Intro that makes subscribers feel to listen or watch that part again.
There are many websites available that provide Podcast Intro Outro for free or by charging few amounts.
